Pack by thinking backward from your first day
What matters is having the right item when you need it. Separate documents, cabin essentials and what your activities require.

Make travel documents easy to reach
Check that your passport and flight booking names match, and save accommodation, booking and return details offline. Verify entry paperwork and passport validity conditions with official authorities and your airline for your nationality, transit route and purpose.
Pack first-day essentials in your cabin bag
Keep charging cables, immediate essentials and a change of clothing in small, accessible groups. Carry needed medicines with their original packaging and information, and check import conditions with destination authorities and a doctor or pharmacist.
Check batteries and liquids with your operating airline
Do not put spare lithium batteries, including power banks, in checked luggage; check cabin and short-circuit protection rules. Read current capacity, quantity, usage and liquid restrictions for the operating airlines on all legs, including connections.
Choose shoes and a day bag for your route
Bring familiar walking shoes and clothing appropriate to any religious sites you plan to visit. Tell your guide about a stroller or large luggage in advance and confirm vehicle capacity or storage arrangements.
Check the official guidance
Entry requirements, opening hours and prices can change. Recheck the official guidance before departure.
